West Pennine Trucks at the Shropshire Truck Show

Saturday 14th and Sunday 15th May saw one of the Shropshire’s largest events come to the Oswestry Showground, in Park Hall. Over the two day period thousands of people attended the Shropshire Truck Show to see monster trucks, vintage vehicles and motorbike stunt riders.

Enlarge photo The event saw more than 400 trucks on site over the weekend, with some of the best trucks on show at the West Pennine Trucks’ Scania stand. This stand had as its centrepiece the Scania hospitality trailer and it also provided an ideal showcase for some of Oswestry and Knighton depots’ long standing customers to proudly present their Scania trucks. These included:

• Wrights Self Drive- The first production built 730 Topline 6x2 tag tractor in the world
• Richard .Marston - 12 week old 620 Topline 6x2 tag tractor
• Birds Transport - 1967 Scania Vabis 4x2 tractor
• Armcon - R cab 8x4 left hand drive cement mixer

Also displayed at the West Pennine Trucks’ stand was the Scania ‘Highline Cab Experience’, a carefully selected range of Scania trucks, all of which had the very popular Scania Highline cab. This gave customers the opportunity to see the variety of options available to them with the versatile Highline cab. These included:

• Cold Move - 6 week old 440 G cab Highline 6x2/4 tractor
• West Pennine Trucks – Demonstration 440 R cab Highline 6x2/4 tractor
• Richard Burbidge - R cab highline 4x2 rigid
• Clive Cowern -18 week old P cab Highline 6x2 tag rigid

This impressive line up of vehicles provided plenty of interest throughout the two days. Visitors to the stand were also able to view & buy a wide range of Scania accessories, which were displayed in a fully stocked accessories tent.
