Leading DAF dealership Heathrow Truck Centre (HTC) have achieved ISO
9001 accreditation for all seven of its depots. Heathrow, Luton, Park Royal, Reading, Oxford and dealerships Belvedere and Croydon have been working towards ISO 9001 status since January this year. The ISO 9001 is a internationally recognised accreditation and relates to quality management systems and is designed to help organizations ensure they meet the needs of customers.
What attracted HTC to achieving this was the ability to put processes in place to monitor, analyse and improve the day to day operations within the company, ranging from parts stock control to right first time to workshop efficiency etc etc. To ensure the quality management systems / processes are continually improved from the ground up each depot has replaced the old fashioned Workshop Foreman with Workshop Quality Supervisors.
Peter Gibbons, Aftersales Director explains the importance of achieving ISO 9001,
" The ISO 9001 is a great achievement for HTC and I am already seeing the benefits. We are now able to monitor, analyse and improve on an ongoing basis all different aspects of the business."
