The Ride and Drive Event and Oswestry Show

Transport operators and drivers will get a great opportunity to test drive Scania's new International Truck of the Year 2010 when West Pennine Trucks stage a Ride & Drive event at their Telford premises on Friday 14 May. Scania's new R-Series truck has been praised for its "aerodynamic design, operational economy and the unique support system that spurs the driver to adopt more efficient driving habits".

It features the next generation of the Opticruise automated gear changing system and the all new Scania Driver Support System; all of which combine to make it easier to drive and more fuel efficient. Attendees will have the opportunity to get behind the wheel of a variety of new R-Series Scania's, including a 620 Twin Steer Topline, a 480 Topline and 440 Highline twin steer and tag axle models.

On the following Saturday and Sunday 15 and 16 May, the R-Series models will be displayed at the Company's stand at the Oswestry Show. Visitors to the stand will be able to inspect the trucks and there will also be an opportunity for test drives on each day. Refreshments will be served throughout the day and, provided the sun shines, it promises to be a fun day out for all the family.
