Intercounty Truck & Van has underlined its commitment to providing the highest levels of service to Mercedes-Benz truck and van operators, by opening a new service depot. The site, a stone’s throw from the M1 at Toddington, near Luton, provides the easiest of access to the country’s main transport artery, and is a handy location for customers based in the Luton and Dunstable area, who would previously have had to use the Intercounty dealership at Milton Keynes.

The site was previously a vehicle workshop so needed little adaptation in terms of layout, but has been extensively refurbished and re-equipped. It now provides eight full-length bays, each capable of accommodating an articulated tractor and trailer combination, with ramps, inspection pits and the latest diagnostic and testing equipment, as well as a large parking area. There is a fully-stocked parts store, which serves the workshop and offers retail sales over the counter. Round-the-clock breakdown cover is provided by a Service 24h van and three dedicated technicians. After Sales Manager Steve Kirk runs the site with a team of eight fully-trained technicians, a service/parts advisor and the three Service 24h specialists. Opening hours are 6am-10.30pm Monday to Friday, and 7am-noon on Saturdays.
“It’s an ideal building in a superb location and has helped us increase our service cover in this important part of our area,” says Steve.
“We’ve put in a lot of work and the site looks really smart and welcoming now. “The feedback from local operators has been very positive and we’ve picked up a lot of business, which clearly demonstrates there was a need for the services that we offer.”
