Ballyvesey Recycling Solutions has now been registered as an ATF - an
Authorised Treatment Facility. This means that they are now connected online to Swansea DVA and the equivalent in Northern Ireland the DVANI.
By law all scrap cars or vans which are now called ELVs – End-of-life vehicles – have to be depolluted before they can be crushed. Firstly they have to be removed from the system electronically and then the vehicle goes through a depollution process. All liquids such as engine oil, fuel, hydraulic oil from the suspension, water from the radiator and
windscreen wash bottle as well as tyres and batteries are removed and disposed of environmentally. The vehicle is then crushed and shipped to the steelworks for further processing.
“We are now in a position to offer a complete service to the general public and insurance companies ensuring that vehicles that have reached the end of their lifespan are disposed of environmentally, responsibly and in full accordance with the law” said Managing Director Dennis Monaghan.
