West Pennine Trucks takes the first order in the UK for Scania's recently announced "Flagship" 730 horsepower V8 model

On Friday 16 April the West Pennine Trucks' sales team were invited to a presentation at Scania GB's offices in Milton Keynes. Enlarge photo The presentation covered details of a new V8 model with special styling and a massive uplift in horsepower and torque to 730 and 3,500 nm respectively for the most powerful engine in the V8 range. This model will become the Scania "Flagship" with huge appeal to owner operators looking for the best truck available in the UK market.

Andrew Ward, Managing Director of West Pennine, commented on the launch "Our sales team left the presentation excited by the new range and, in particular, the all powerful 730 horsepower model and were quickly in touch with potential customers. Within 2 weeks of the meeting, our Sales Executive for the Knighton, Oswestry and Telford area secured an order for the flagship model from one of his customers." Although the truck is not available until October, we are looking forward to receiving it from the factory and being able to deliver the first one in the UK to our customer, who is equally excited by the prospect of its arrival.
