West Pennine Trucks delivers over 200 new Scania Trucks to Salford Van Hire

During the last 2½ months, Salford Van Hire Limited, a leading vehicle rental and contract hire business based in Salford and Leeds, have taken delivery of over 200 new Scania R420 6x2/4 and 4x2 tractor units.  The vehicles will form part of Salford Van Hire’s 6,000+ mixed vehicle fleet and they will be used by them on a mixture of dedicated customer contracts and spot hire business.

Although Salford Van Hire is a long-standing customer of West Pennine Trucks, this is the first time that so many trucks have been delivered in such a short space of time.  Andrew Ward, Managing Director, comments as follows:-

“Our Specialist Centre at Trafford Park have done an exceptional job in preparing and delivering this number of vehicles so quickly to such a high standard”.

Aftersales support for the majority of the new vehicles will be provided by West Pennine Trucks, which operates seven depots in the North West as part of Scania’s nationwide 90-plus strong network of service centres.  This aftersales back up and the strength of the relationship with Scania and West Pennine Trucks was an important reason behind Salford’s decision to choose the Scania product for its fleet.  Alessandro Bacci, a Director of Salford Van Hire states:-
