Machine that you can rely on; Terex TM350
November 2008
Foyle Recycling and their sister company, Erin Recycling are family run businesses, owned and operated by the Foley family. These companies have just taken delivery of two Terex 16m reach (TM350) material handlers from Sleator Plant Ltd. The companies own two scrap yards, one on the banks of the Foyle in Derry, “Foyle Recycling” and another at Sligo Harbour in Sligo Town, “Erin Recycling”. These strategic locations enable them to process scrap and load it straight onto the ships as they pull up next to each yard.
This is where the Terex machines really come into action. Their long reach and speed ensures that the boats are loaded quickly and on time. When a boat is delayed at loading, there are huge penalties from the shipping company, so it is imperative to have machines that you can rely on.
The 16m reach of the high volume capacity TM350, coupled with its speed and smooth controls, guarantees high performance at maximum demand. The ability of the machine ensures that loading and unloading the compactor on one side, coupled with the unloading of trucks and stacking on to the scrap heap, can be carried out with ease. The machines are the nerve centre of the recycling yard so reliability is of paramount importance, the Atlas design and build ensures a long life of service and a good residual value, making them an ‘asked for by name’ machine in the recycling industry.
